We are offering a new section in our Resources section: a set of presentation slide decks that can be used by you for training or sharing with people who want to learn more about networks.
You can edit or mix and match any of the slides into a custom slide deck that will work best for your audience. All the slides are creative commons but please do credit the networkweaver site in your final slide deck.
Movement NetLab, a Think and Do Collective, formed after Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Sandy with the idea of sharing the lessons learned from those innovations in decentralized organizing. Four of the group discovered my NW Handbook and the concept of self — organizing and arrived in Athens Ohio in the winter of 2013 for a several day work session to further develop our understanding of self-organizing.
As many of you know, June Holley has been supporting this networkweaver site for the last several years. Next year she will be focusing full-time on writing a book on transformative networks. June has asked a trusted partner, Leadership Learning Community (LLC), to take on the care and building of NetworkWeaver as a robust resource and place of connection for leveraging work on behalf of social and racial justice.

As we navigate our new world, how can we learn to continue our important work without face-to-face meetings and work sessions? Even more importantly, how can we provide support to each other, share our fears, and help each other figure out how to meet our needs — even though we cannot be in the same room.

We are offering a stipend of $250 for any relevant blog post or resource submitted by a Person of Color to help support hearing all voices on our blog. You can submit up to 4 blog posts or resources during the year.
Simply write a blog post of around 250–750 words (1 to 3 pages) about anything that can advance our network strategies. We are especially looking for articles on dismantling racism, community self-care, and including all voices, but all topics will be considered. Because networks often engage many people, some of whom are only occasionally involved, it is harder to track the impact of the network. One solution to this might be the use of a technique called Ripple Effect Mapping.
The first step is to identify the scope of the mapping. Are you identifying impact of all of your network’s activities or only a specific initiative such as an Innovation Fund?
I’ve pulled together some questions you might want to use to guide a deep reflection in preparation for the coming times.
